Artist Feature 3: Joji Viktor Biernot "gutterface"

Joji is a BOY i must point out first.
He is from the U.S and is an experimental photographer, and a goth kid by heart :P
I love gutterface mostly because he is a boy who is unafraid to really express himself in these pictures!
Please enjoy and take a peep at his page: http://gutterface.deviantart.com/

This picture here of the mirrior is one of my favorite and has a poem to go with it:

His hands shook as the brushes slid across painted skin. He was covered in it. Fear and paint. Every inch of his face, every stretch of his skin was left with thick black smudges and thin white lines. Years he had been like this. Hidden behind all of it. Wax to coat his skin like a museum display. He wasnt quite himself without it... Uglier, he said, he was uglier without it. Those lines and those smudges had become a part of his skin and without them well, he shook. Just as he did when drawing them on with surgical precision...

"Art can born in many ways and show itself in many shapes. One of these is for sure photography. Even photography can have many styles but usually we are used to intend that it's like a simple representation of the reality... But you can mould, recreate and exploit it like a comunication channel for non conventional messages, alternative existences and unique and incredible stories... this is what I'm trying to express with my artworks often hyper coloured and visionary where characters and emotions, colors and vibrations are sent vivid to the watcher like they're breathing inside a small world. A little photographic hemisphere of coloured reality beyond the usual beauty stereotypes." [ PureBlackLove ]

Bunny scarf Tutorial

*TUTORIAL OWNED BY CARNET_ATELIER ON LIVEJOURNAL.

bunny scarf tutorial

This is to make this bunny scarf+hood.

Materials:
1 1/4 yds x 45" fleece fabric*
1 1/4 yds x 45" lining fabric*
8" faux fur or bunny ear lining of your choice
1" ribbon (optional)
*If you bought 1 1/4 yrds off a bolt it would be twice as much as your need.

Cutting Instructions:
1. Begin by cutting out your fleece fabric. These measurements are completely made up so you may need to guestimate a bit ^_^;;;

2. Now cut out your lining - you won't need to cut out the ear pieces again for the lining unless you plan to line the ears with it.
3. Cut out ears from faux fur or other bunny ear lining (this will most likely make a mess, so be prepared).

Sewing Instructions:
1. Sew the inside of the fleece hood together with right sides facing each other.

2. Sew fleece bunny ear and bunny ear lining together with right sides facing each other.
3. Flip bunny ears right-side out and tuck the edges in.
4. Turn fleece hood right-side out and pin the bottom of the bunny ears about 3 or 4 inches from the top with the lining facing toward you and the fleece on the fleece hood (when you let the ears flop down the fleece part will be exposed and the fuzzy part will peek out from underneath).

5. Stitch the ears onto the fleece hood.
6. Loosely stitch the hood lining together.

7. Pin the two hood pieces together with right sides facing (make sure to tuck in the ears) and stitch around the entire perimeter of the hood+scarf.

8. Unstitch a small portion of the lining and turn the whole thing right side out.
9. Stitch lining back together where you had to unstitch it.
10. Top it with a bow on one ear (optional) ^_^

And you can do any kind of ear like this - cats, bears, monkey, etc.
